In the single pit toilet building at Saline Warm Springs are stacks of the two documents above: “Commonly Asked Questions at the Springs” & “Saline Warm Spring’s Wisdom”. You may download a PDF of each by clicking on the links. Lots of TP and cleaning supplies were stockpiled. Visitors are responsible for keeping things shipshape and the place was spotless, though smelly. The pit was up to its brim and it was not expected that the Forest Service would make it in to pump any time soon.

We all enjoyed a soak in the largest pool at Palm Spring, which was quite luxurious and well-maintained. It’s a clothing optional place, so if you are not accepting of nude people of all ages walking around, you best stop at the Lower Warm Spring, where the “rules” are followed more closely.

Here is a two-minute movie of our Steel Pass adventure. Gino & Maria had been stuck for two hours before we arrived. It took another couple of hours to get them unstuck. It was a bit tense getting Ken’s large pickup through the same spot. With only inches to spare and the truck rocking side-to-side, Karen was shaking with anxiety as she tried to take record the action. Ken negotiated the narrow opening with skill. It was his first experience at four-wheeling! In the end, we all survived intact and we had made some new friends! We hope you enjoy watching!

The morning after we arrived in the dark at Warm Springs, Judson and Pat awoke to a postcard tucked under their windshield wiper. It was a note from Gino and Maria, who had taken off early to reach the Race Track. Gino wanted to photograph the moving rocks. Lippincott Pass lay between. We wished them well.
